Konzert: Dery (US) and Fontaine Burnett

Montag, 12. Dezember 2011
If you close your eyes and listen to someone’s music, you often have a sense of their physical appearance. In Dery’s case however, you’d surely be misguided. The last image you may have is that of a 17-year-old girl expressing her thoughts through the piano and her soothing, warm, sophisticated voice. At first, this incongruity of perception may be difficult to accept, but in time you realize that for Dery it does not matter what you look like, who you are, or where you’re from but rather that we all share the same emotions and get caught in similar situations no matter who we are. Attributable to the fact that she lives between New York and Hamburg, Dery has moved in international circles, which allow her to view the world from various perspectives. This has given her young soul experience, which consequently awakened her desire to share her music. Her deep, sultry voice will entice you and give you the impression of a warm embrace. Working through issues and newfound philosophies, Dery has already at her young age written a multitude of songs and this is clearly only the beginning of her mission to draw you into her world with her intriguing voice.
