Was für Schuhe trägt man traditionell zum Kimono? Was muss man bei der Größenwahl beachten und wie kombiniere ich ein modernes Kimono-Outfit mit normalen Schuhen?

Kimono Club Mitglied Mengqi Wang hält nicht nur einen Vortrag, sondern ihr dürft auch die entsprechenden Schuhe anprobieren und selbst eine Runde im Teeraum drehen! Ein Paar echte Maiko-Okobo (hohe Plateau-Sandalen aus Holz) sind unterwegs und können voraussichtlich an dem Tag anprobiert werden. Bitte zieht saubere Socken an!

Im Anschluss besteht bei einem gemütlichen Teetrinken die Möglichkeit, gemeinsam Kimono oder Yukata anzuprobieren. Die Türen öffnen ab ca. 17:45 Uhr, der Vortrag beginnt kurz nach 18 Uhr. Der Eintritt ist frei, Spenden sind willkommen.

Kimono Club Hamburg Talk: Specialist Knowledge on Footwear

What shoes are traditionally worn with kimono? What should you keep in mind when choosing the right size, and how can you style a modern kimono outfit with everyday shoes?

Kimono Club member Mengqi Wang won’t just be giving a talk—you’ll also have the chance to try on different types of kimono footwear for yourself in the tea room! A pair of authentic maiko okobo, high wooden platform sandals, is on its way and will likely be available to try on that day. Please wear clean socks!

After the talk, we’ll gather for a relaxed cup of tea, with the chance to try on kimono or yukata together.
Doors open at around 5:45 p.m., and the talk will begin shortly after 6:00 p.m.
