Wir freuen uns, die nächste Ausstellung von und mit Iuliana (Uli) Golub zu präsentieren. Uli ist bildende Künstlerin aus der Ukraine, und zur Zeit im Rahmen eines dreimonatigen Residenz-Stipendiums in der Achterhaus Ateliergemeinschaft in Hamburg. In ihrem künstlerischen Œuvre bewegt sie sich formal zwischen Film und Installation, und inhaltlich zwischen den Kontrasten aus Flucht und Expats und der Zukunft des Narrativs des Ein- und Auswanderns. Ursprünglich früher geplant, und nach langwierigen Visa-Klärungen endlich möglich, freuen wir uns auf den Austausch zwischen Osteuropa und Norddeutschland in der Präsentation ihres Projektes:


Can filmmaking be a practice of hospitality? Creating a movie is like giving birth. But you’re not alone. The creative team is crying and laughing, suffering and rejoicing with you. A film is a community baby. This exhibition will give you a glimpse into the process of art film concept(ion) and birth. With this exhibition we will celebrate the process of movie making and the creative team behind the scenes. We hope we will inspire others to go and give birth to more community babies of different shapes and colors.

We invite you to our workshop-performance of making and cooking Pelmeni and Vareniky, which are East-European dumplings also known as pierogi. The creative process will be accompanied by a nonchalant conversation on bodily processes and experiences real or fictional.
