Brooke Sharkey was brought up mostly in London and France. She writes gypsy and blues inspired folk ballads in both languages, contrasting cotton wool folk melodies with strong and soulful vocals throughout her songs. Her unique voice and expression is second to none while her simply beautiful songwriting and total dedication to music, means the only path for Brooke Sharkey is upwards in the world of music. She released her debut EP 'A taste of truth' last summer, recorded in collaboration with Producer Chris Bond. She is now working on her next album with her new found London based band, captivating audiences wherever they go with an old timey instrumentation, heartfelt lyrics and three part harmonies. The Scottish fiddle melodies and atmospheric French horn creates a rich backing and worldly atmosphere to this, already, very dynamic music: both in volume and emotion. Having busked around Europe and beyond for the last 5 years, she has not gone unnoticed. The well known Katherine Hamnett spotted Brooke at Columbia Road flower market and wrote ' Brooke has an incredible voice, control and grace. ' (the observer) Brooke has played venues such as the Jazz café, Ronnie Scotts and the Troubadour, festivals such as Glastonbury, Green man and Secret Garden Party. She has been featured on radio 6, Balcony TV and BBC introducing and has also toured in music venues all around the UK, Russia, New York and France.
