Im Jahre 2013 veröffentlicht Göran Therborn ein Buch mit dem Titel "The Killing Fields of Inequality", das das Bild einer verwüsteten Soziallandschaft nach der politischen Revolution des Neoliberalismus zeichnet. Wieviel Tote hat die Durchsetzung eines Regimes der grenzenlosen Geldschöpfung, der ungehemmten Selbstvermarktung und trostlosen Eigenverantwortung gekostet?

Is the recent indignation against economic inequality only resentment and envy? What is the moral and civic atonal basis of a critique of inequality?
Inequality should not be measured only by the size of people's wallets. The vital inequality of life, health, and death, and the existential inequality of persons, of their autonomy, recognition, and respect have also to be taken into account.
The lecture will present a morally and theoretically grounded critique of multidimensional inequality, as well as a global empirical overview of inequality and its consequences.
